Making Wheathampstead more beautiful

The “Litter Blitzers” are a bunch of villagers who dislike being in litter-strewn surroundings. We want our village to be CLEAN – as well as notably attractive and historic.

We meet every two months on Saturdays (9.45 for 10.00); we target litter ‘hotspots’ in/near the village. With an average team of 7, we make an obvious difference in 1˝ hours, both to the look of the place and by rescuing many recyclables from landfill!

We are supported by the Parish Clerk and Councillors (through insurance cover, poster printing and lamination), and the District Council willingly provides needed equipment and collection of all the bags of rubbish and recyclables.
